Honoring Moms

Holidays can be especially difficult when your loved one has died. No matter how long they have been gone, holidays have a way of opening up the pain. It is hard for me to believe that my mother has been gone eleven years.

I never realized how strong my mother was until I became a mother. She gave birth to seven children and miscarried a set of twins. Two of the seven children died within a day of being born. She suffered abuse in her childhood and with her first husband. Her life was not an easy life. But she always took care of us and showed us how much she loved us. I miss her very much.

As we go about our day, lets give our mothers a special place in our hearts today. Find a nice way to bring honor to your mom. Maybe share stories about her with your children or make one of her famous deserts.

Another way to honor your mother is to write a letter to your mother expressing your love for her. This can be an excellent way to remember your mother on mother’s day, especially if you did not have the chance to say goodbye.

Whatever you choose to do, just remember that you carry your mother within your heart.

As always I welcome your feedback and questions. You can leave them in the comments below. If you like what you read let me know with a thumbs up.
